​The TidyTowns initiative has done much to change the landscape of Ireland’s villages, towns and cities since the very first competition was launched in 1958. But it’s more than a municipal ‘beauty contest’ - it’s an important civic and economic initiative which aims to have a long term impact on the nation’s communities. With over 800 entries each year, TidyTowns involves hundreds of thousands of volunteers as well as councils all across the country.

​Nottingham city centre will once again be the site of an inventive floral trail running across the city’s shopping and commercial centre. The floral trail, which is now in its third year, is jointly sponsored by Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID) and Nottingham City Council. It comprises 12 specially designed Willow sculptures woven around Amberol’s self-watering containers which will flower throughout the summer.
