'Tim’s Travels' blog … Stepping out of spring
It’s been an exciting spring season for Amberol’s Business Development Manager, Tim Troman.
Tim has travelled across the country to oversee Amberol product installations that have enhanced public spaces, exhibited at events meeting old friends and making new ones - all the while remaining a committed Amberol ‘spotter’.
Here’s a snapshot of the season just gone as we launch into the summer ‘in bloom’ months …
Celebration Tiered Planter & Full Barrier Basket

Tim spends a bright and early spring day in South Gloucestershire with members of Thornbury in Bloom, who have been working with their local council to enhance and regenerate their local high street.
Pictured are Amberol planters that have undergone a recent refresh of new surrounds to the existing planters that are still going strong, 15 years on.
Metre Square Planter & Planter Enhancement range
Transformation day in Oakham, Rutland. The Councillors and Oakham in Bloom team wanted a spring refresh of stylish new planters installed at their local railway station – and what a seamless result!
Planter Enhancement Parklet & Amberwall
A busy week for Tim in Grimsby working on the installation of brand-new Planter Enhancement parklets and an Amberwall to enhance the local high street in partnership with North East Lincolnshire Council, Grimsby in Bloom, and Hedera.
Tim says:
In 12 hours we transformed the central precinct with baskets, planter enhancements and parklets, and Amberwall living walls. It was so nice to hear all the positive comments from the public about how the planters help create an environment where people want to stay and shop.
Our spring/summer photo competition opens for entries on 1 May 2025 and runs until 30 September 2025.
For the chance to win £300, just submit your photo of Amberol’s self-watering planters with your wonderful displays via the online form on the Amberol website. Your photos will then be entered into the public vote and results will be announced in October 2025.
