Having re-opened a few days after Easter, production at the Amberol factory is running smoothly. There have been some adjustment in processes and systems, and changes have been put in place to ensure strict social distancing in accordance with government regulations but Amberol’s MD reports that there have been surprisingly few teething problems.
“We are very pleased to be open again and to be able to fulfil outstanding orders for customers as well as being open to take new orders,” comments Amberol’s MD, Patience Atkinson-Gregory. “We’d like to thank our staff for adapting so well to the new procedures. And of course, we’d also like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding.”
Amberol report that all links in the supply chain are working well with good access the raw materials needed for production. “Our suppliers are very reliable,” adds Patience. “The only occasional hitch has been with booking transport to deliver the finished products. This means that it sometimes takes slightly longer to organise delivery, but we would ask that our customers bear with us as everyone is working hard to ensure that products reach their destination as quickly and safely as possible.”
The factory has capacity to deal with more orders and so customers can continue to place orders secure in the knowledge that, unless anything drastic changes in the national situation, their orders will be fulfilled in a timely fashion.
Amberol hopes to be able to reinstate visits from reps as soon as it is declared safe to do so, but for the time being, site visits and face-to-face demonstrations are still suspended.
“It’s a difficult line to walk, striving to offer the best possible service to customers while ensuring everyone’s health and safety. However, safety will always be the most important issue for everyone at Amberol,” explains Patience.
