A merry Christmas from Amberol

A busy year for Britain in Bloom 

This year we were happy to be busier than ever supplying hardworking Britain in Bloom groups across the UK with our range of self-watering planters to showcase their floral displays in. Most Britain in Bloom volunteers are used to dealing with excessive rain, wind and unseasonably cold weather in the annual run up to the all-important judges’ visit, but few have experienced a heatwave like the one we had in 2018. While the prolonged hot weather was a delight for many, it brought Britain in Bloom groups unprecedented new challenges. 

Luckily for the Britain in Bloom groups that Amberol supplies, our self-watering planters feature the unique Aquafeed™ system which includes a series of high capillary action wicks which ‘suck’ up water from a sub soil reservoir onto a dispersal mat which keeps the compost optimally moist at all times. 

Cause for celebration 

As always, we were very pleased to see many of the Britain in Bloom groups we work in partnership with find winning form both regionally and at the Britain in Bloom national awards which took place in Belfast in October. 

Amberol customer Truro triumphed in the Champion of Champion category and Aberdeen, Ballymena, Sidmouth, Usk and Newcastle-under-Lyme are other Amberol partners who won awards across the many different categories. 

Summer may be the busiest time for Britain in Bloom, however the teams work hard all year round to ensure their floral displays are ready to delight the public and the judges when summer arrives, so we look forward to working with our partners throughout 2019. 

Planning for 2019 

Once again we have produced our attractive and useful wall planner for 2019. It’s a great addition to any office wall and will help you get organised by being able to easily see upcoming events at a glance. Not only that, our wall planner features lots of product news, customer stories, photos and other information about all things Amberol. Also, the winners of our 2018 photography competition will be announced in the wall planner alongside their stunning photographs.
