Amberol will once again be in attendance at the Keep Britain Tidy Network Conference and Awards which are being held in Liverpool on Thursday 9th February. In addition to exhibiting with parent company Leafield Environmental for the first time, Amberol will also be sponsoring one of the event’s prestigious awards.
The theme of this year’s conference is Fit for the Future, acknowledging the importance of having an effective long term sustainable plan for managing litter and the built environment. The conference will focus on what street scenes, waste management processes and green spaces could look like in 10–15 years into the future - and what the implications of these changes might be for local authorities.
Presentations at the conference encompass a range of linked topics, including issues around climate adaptation, the use of artificial intelligence and other new technologies and electrification of fleets, as well as an exploration of new approaches to waste management and sustainability.

Amberol is sponsoring this year’s Community Engagement Award which includes Buckinghamshire Council, Allerdale Borough Council and West Lancashire Borough Council as the shortlisted finalists. The award was previously won by Amberol customer Westminster City Council who use Amberol’s bestselling Olympic Dual Bins across the region, The City of Westminster is also a finalist in the 2023 Team of the Year category. Meanwhile, Leafield Environmental are sponsoring the #LitterHeroes category.
“We are delighted to be attending the Keep Britain Tidy Conference and Awards again as it’s such an important event in the waste management world,” comments Steven Parker, Commercial Manager at Amberol. “The charity does so much to help improve the world that we live in. This year’s theme of future planning and proofing is also a key one for local authorities. We are looking forward to meeting customers and potential customers to help support them in their strategic litter management processes, as well as helping celebrate their achievements through the awards event.”
The Keep Britain Tidy Network Conference attracts delegates from local authorities and housing associations across England, providing a valuable opportunity for service and infrastructure suppliers, business leaders, community leaders and the charity sector to meet and network together. The awards are a great way of celebrating excellence and innovation in the field at the same time as sharing examples of good practice. In addition to the #LitterHeroes and Community Engagement categories, awards are handed out for a total of eight categories, including the Great British Spring Clean and Love Parks initiative.
