Building good relationships with customers has always been an important part of the Amberol ethos, and so we very much look forward to the autumn regional Britain in Bloom awards season, when we get out and about meeting our customers. This enables us to catch up on what has been happening with them, what we can help with and how we can improve our products and services. And of course, it also offers the opportunity to witness and celebrate their successes.
As sponsors of all these regions, the following awards events are all on Amberol’s September road trip itinerary.
SSEIB covers Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, East and North Dorset and East Wiltshire. As well as Britain in Bloom, the organisation runs a range of campaigns including an environmental challenge, initiatives around cemeteries and crematoria and the Public Parks and Gardens and our Green Spaces campaign, all designed to enhance the region. As sponsors of SSEiB, Amberol will be attending the awards which are being held in Farnham in Surrey on 29th September.
Due to the recent sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the Heart of England awards have combined with the In Your Neighbourhood awards this year at an event which will be taking place on 22nd September. In Your Neighbourhood (IYN) is the non-competitive category of the RHS Britain in Bloom campaign. Taking part in the scheme is often the starting point for voluntary groups looking to enhance their community. In IYN, a group is defined as two or more people, and although groups don’t compete, they are visited by In Bloom experts, who provide advice and support with ongoing development.
Amberol’s home region is holding their awards on the afternoon of 21st September at Loughborough Town Hall. EMiB run a range of additional awards, including one for Best School Garden to encourage the next generation of gardeners, as well as running a grant scheme for groups who have entered Britain in Bloom within the last three years.
With these awards also being held on 21st September, some of the Amberol team will be heading south to the capital. The awards are being held at Mile End Park in Tower Hamlets. They include a range of special categories including around biodiversity, community gardens and meadows. Recognising the importance of green spaces in the capital and surrounding areas, London in Bloom also include awards for different sized parks and communal green spaces.
These awards are being held on 28th September in Gateshead. As one of the seven founder regions, NIB has been active since Britain in Bloom’s inception in 1964. The organisation currently has around 1600 groups active in their communities across Tyne and Wear, County Durham and the unitary council areas of Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesborough and Redcar & Cleveland.
Amberol aim to be more than just suppliers to Britain in Bloom groups; because we believe so strongly in what these community groups are trying to achieve, we strive to offer as much support as we can. This is one of the reasons why we are delighted to sponsor the different regions and their awards. We also love to get out of the factory and amongst our customers to ensure that we are listening to what they want.
Hopefully we will see some of you on our autumn awards road trip! Good luck to all the entrants who have worked so hard and achieved so much for their communities.
