Amberol sponsor community category in Keep Britain Tidy Network Awards

At Amberol we like to support initiatives that have a positive impact on the world that we live in – and this year, more than ever, charities and community groups need that support. Although we haven’t been able to visit our In Bloom customers during the pandemic like we would normally do, we have continued to offer our help by sponsoring events. Most recently, we have announced our sponsorship of an award in the prestigious Keep Britain Tidy Network Awards.

In keeping with our ethos and customer base, Amberol is sponsoring the Community Engagement Award. One of ten awards, four of which are only open to network members, the winning entry is required to demonstrate how their project has inspired increased responsibility for the environment within the community. Entrants are also asked for evidence of how they have facilitated community involvement and the overall impact that the project has had on the local environment.

Rewarding achievement online

The awards are the highpoint of Keep Britain Tidy’s annual conference which takes place between 1st to 5thFebruary. The awards celebrate excellence and innovation in improving local environmental quality as well as providing a vehicle for members to share good practice.

This year’s conference and awards will be a little different as they will be held online, but all the usual elements of the awards event will take place, including presentations and interviews with the category winners.

Supporting communities in need

Amberol’s MD, Patience Atkinson-Gregory comments: “This year has been a particularly difficult year for everyone. With significant challenges posed by the pandemic and community engagement has played a more important role than ever, which is one of the reasons why we felt it was important to sponsor this award.”

She continues: “We have seen an unwelcome rise in littering at various times and in different locations from beaches to beauty spots during the pandemic and so the work that organisations like Keep Britain Tidy do is vital in maintaining the quality of our public places. Britain needs to bounce back in 2021 - and one of the ways we can do that is by taking care of each other and our environment.”

The conference attracts delegates from local authorities, housing associations and landowners from across the UK. This year’s conference will comprise a series of sessions across the week, crowned by the awards ceremony on 3rd February. The deadline for entries is now closed.

Amberol helps councils, community groups, schools, universities and businesses keep their environment tidy by supplying a range of indoor and outdoor litter bins of different styles, colours and sizes. From standalone bins to animal shaped bins, to banks of recycling bins, Amberol has a litter bin suitable for almost any space.
