Self-watering technology keeps displays fresh and fragrant.

Self-watering technology keeps displays fresh and fragrant.

After a wet June, summer seems to finally be with us just as the Britain in Bloom judges are making their tour of places across the UK, so it’s important that floral displays are looking their very best.

While we welcome the sunshine, it does throw up problems for landscapers, ground staff and gardeners across the country. When the weather is excessively hot or we have prolonged dry spells, it’s a very difficult task to keep flowers and vegetables adequately watered.

That’s why we devised our own range of self-watering planters which use our trademarked Aquafeed system. Each planter has a built in water reservoir with a series of high capacity capillaries to ‘suck’ up the water which is then evenly dispersed via an expander pad. The reservoir needs to be topped up once a week and because the water is stored underneath the soil, it doesn’t evaporate.

Our customers, from councils to amateur gardeners to Britain in Bloom groups, often tell us how much time, water and money our self-watering planters save. Not only that, but because plants are grown in optimal conditions, they look fresh as a daisy whatever the weather.

Amberol’s self-watering planters come in a range of styles and shapes – from tiered containers to barrier baskets. Even the notoriously tricky hanging basket needs less time and attention using our self-watering technology.

See if you can spot our planters while you are out and about – look for the Amberol logo at the base of the container. While you are at it, take a photo and send it to info@amberol.co.uk before 16th September and you could win £1000 of Amberol products in our annual photo competition.
