Catch Amberol on BBC Radio Local

If you missed Amberol’s MD Patience Atkinson-Gregory speaking on BBC Radio Local about our popular talking litter bins, you can listen again by clicking here.

Patience was interviewed by BBC Radio presenter Mark Forrest who hosts the All-Local Radio Evening programme. Mark was intrigued by Amberol’s talking bins which have recordable voice boxes, even suggesting that one would come in handy to keep the studio clean and tidy!

As part of the interview, Patience explained how children (and adults) are often fascinated by the bins which talk to them when litter is deposited in their mouths. To add to their appeal, the bins are available as different animals including a chick, a penguin and a bear.

Greetings can be selected from a pre-programmed range and include messages such as “Yum yum feed me more”, “That’s the best meal I’ve had today” and “Thanks for your litter; I do like being fed by you.” The bins can also be customised with personal greetings recorded on a sound card – some even sing!

Patience explained that the talking bins are popular with schools as well as parks and recreation spaces. organisations can also customise their own personal greetings. The messages are recorded on a sound card which is triggered by light sensors.
