Prize value in Amberol’s photo competition increases to £300

News stories around rising inflation and its negative impact on people have been circulating for weeks – so we are delighted to announce an above-inflation increase of the more positive kind.

The value of the prize for the Amberol photo competition will rise from £200 to £300. This means that the lucky winner will receive £300 worth of discount against any Amberol rotomoulded products that they order. (Please note: the prize excludes carriage and VAT.)

Dates for your competition diary

The timing of the competition will also change. It will now be run biannually, with an opening entry date for the next competition of 1^st November 2022. The next two dates and deadlines will be as follows:

Autumn/Winter 2022: the date for entries opens on 1^st November and runs until 31^st March 2023. Results will then be announced in April 2023. Any entries received since 1^st July 2022 after the Spring/Summer competition deadline will be automatically entered into this competition.

Spring/Summer 2023: the date for entries opens on 1^st May and runs until 30^th September. Results will be announced in October 2023.

Entering is so easy

The process for entering your photo is very simple and remains the same. Just submit any image that you have of Amberol’s self-watering planters via the online form on the website. Your photo will then be entered into the public vote with the chance of winning the £300 product discount. As winners are chosen by public voting on social media, anyone and everyone can have their say. Entrants can also spread the word online and gain support for their images.

What should I photograph?

Any Amberol self-watering planter is eligible for entry. Just look for the black or green Amberol sticker near the base of the planter – although they can sometimes be hard to spot under the cascades of flowers! And don’t forget to look up for Hanging Baskets and Up the Pole baskets too, as well as containers with edible plants. Photos can be taken all year-round, including winter displays as our self-watering planters can be used throughout the four seasons.

Seeing your photographs is always an uplifting experience for us here at Amberol, and the competition provides a great opportunity to showcase the hard work of community gardening organisations, Britain in Bloom groups, gardeners and grounds people. Amberol self-watering planters can be found all across the world, and so we also welcome entries from overseas.
